Pam and Angela at Art and Stitch
Pam and Angela at Art and Stitch

Angela, owner of Art and Stitch, has over 35 years experience in her field and is currently studying for the City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Free Machine Embroidery. Angela has already gained City and Guilds qualification in Dressmaking and Level 1 qualification in Free Machine Embroidery.

Passionate about her art, innovative and patient, Angela developed her enthusiasm for textiles as a youngster and has been sewing regularly ever since she first picked up a needle and thread.

Her love of colour allows her to be creative with her work and ever since she was blessed with an Old Singer sewing machine aged seven, she has been fluent with her ability to read a pattern – something her Grandmother had a major influence on.

And Angela has one piece of advice for all budding embroiderers: "Never throw away your scraps!"

Pam has been dress making for over 40 years and recently discovered a passion and talent for patch working and quilting. Having spent a lot of time developing her skills in cross stitch, card making and general crafts, she gradually moved towards patch working and quilting.

Although she doesn't class herself as a teacher as such, this friendly, out-going, people person is thrilled to be able to pass on her knowledge to budding craftspeople.

She has developed a wide knowledge of patch working and quilting in a short space of time as she has an excellent eye for detail including helping with colours and what people want to achieve from their work.

Her sheer enthusiasm and love of what she does has enabled her to improve her skills.

She says: "If I can't help you with something, then I will definitely be able to help source the expertise you require."
